Apart from orthopedics, a physical therapist plays a very important role in rehabilitation of a number of neurological cases like Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscle Atrophy etc. Medications taken will reduce the inflammation and control the disease process but the disability resulting from these diseases can be treated only with physiotherapy and only a physical therapist can help the patient return to his/her daily activities.
Last but not the least, preventive education like home modification for disabilities or office modification to make it more ergonomically suitable, less office workers suffering neck and back aches and pain, also is a significant role the physiotherapists play.
